St. Botolph's School

When WGI - working with Focus Education (Bovis Lend Lease) - won Lincolnshire County Council's bid for seven PFI schools, St Botolph's Church of England Primary was the first to be completed.
WGI's brief was to design a school to accommodate an increase in Sleaford's pupil numbers in a new learning environment rich in ICT facilities and responsive to new learning methods in terms of technology, infrastructure and personal equipment. A vibrant learning hub contains both the central ICT suite and main learning resource area - reflecting the importance of technology and teaching coming together for a rich and exciting learning environment. Each classroom 'pair' also has an ICT output node off the main circulation space to support the high level of computer use and printing requirements.
The DfE promoted the new school design as a good example of a 21st Century learning environment and used it as an advert for its BSF programme. The school also received a Civic Trust Award for both outstanding building design and its special contribution to the wider community.
