Although our experience of designing for the housing sector extends back to the beginning of the practice in 1900 our current portfolio has its origins around 2000 since when the Practice has been involved in proposals for over 18,000 units of residential accommodation.
Our design objectives have always been to produce welcoming, comfortable and secure living environments which give a sense of place and belonging to the individual, families and the wider community and provide a foundation on which to build sustainable communities. They are based on a clear understanding of the need to successfully integrate good design from within the home, inside and out, through to the public realm beyond.
Working with both public and private sector clients our housing projects include large scale regeneration, infill sites, mixed use and tenure, care and extra care, and single living accommodation. We have provided a wide range of services including feasibility studies, masterplanning, resident and community engagement, compliance audits and construction design.
We believe housing is often the critical component in regeneration and by capitalising on our extensive reach into other sectors, not only does it enrich our approach to housing design but also offers the potential to unlock new opportunities particularly through "wider generation" thinking and combining assets across the sectors, and public and private clients.
